FACTS on HARAJUKU FASHION :
These youths never stick to one certain style , its usually a mesh of different ones.
Harajuku is the Fashion capitol of the world.
Many designers and fashion ideas have been taken from Harajuku and have been created into other fashions throughout the world.
Harajuku as it is now traces its roots to the end of World War II during the Allied occupation of Japan. U.S.
It became an area where curious young people flocked to experience a different culture and stores in the area stocked goods marketed towards middle and upper class Japanese and Americans.
After the Olympics [ 1964 summer] the young people who hung out in the area, frequently referred to as the Harajuku-zoku,[9] or the Harajuku tribe, began to develop a distinct culture and style unique to different groups and the area. From this distinct style grew the culture of Harajuku as a gathering ground for youths.

What is Harajuku you may ask??
Harajuku is a place in the center of Japan, Tokyo where many teenagers go and hang out and show off their amazing colorful exotic styles. this place also has many stores that sell these fashionable clothing items. Harajuku is not only a shopping outside area but it also serves as a purpose for Teens to show their support for fashion. many of these teenagers who hang out at Harajuku are known to become famous because of how they dress. for example they may dress as famous anime characters and people who love those characters will ask those teens if they can have a photo taken with them and eventually those photos are put up on popular websites.
